To explain PCMR simply, it is just that I am a personal computer activist. I feel the need to educate people on the importance of computers as a necessary utility to get by in a world so reliant on tech.
PCs come in all sizes, forms and factors. I love laptops, smart phones, gaming rigs, and server PCs of all sizes. This little corner of the website just highlights some of the ones I’ve had the pleasure of assembling or configuring! (Yes, 9/10 they’re usually desktop PCs) Sometimes I just post pictures of computers that I admire.
Check back regularly for new galleries and tales of my PCMR adventures!
“Phoenix” [2017-2018]
Phoenix was my first step into the wild world of PCMR. This was the computer I made all the rookie mistakes with, but also learned the most on. It started as an old gaming desktop I bought off a friend, well past it’s prime. All I had to do was upgrade all the parts. By the time I was done with it, the only original parts were the motherboard and the power supply!
The “Cube” [2019 – Current Day]
This was the PC build to follow Phoenix, and one that I still actively use. Main purpose? To browse the internet and play video games mostly, but I have used it to edit videos as well.
“Lily” [2019 – Current Day]
This tall glass of water was the end product of my girlfriend letting me upgrade her runty workstation into a sims 4 playing monster! While I was in there I also added some extra LED fans for just the right amount of “obnoxious”
“Super Best Friend” Discount
When you get kinda good at something, naturally your friends will want you to help them. Above are just some snapshots of computers being built, or a finished build/rebuild I did for one of my friends. All charged with the “Super Best Friend” discount.
Work Computers!
Because I work as an IT, I get to do cool things like build computers for certain reasons!
The Origin of Trashbin
The Dell PowerEdge is where I learned how to do the majority of all the snazzy networking technobabble I know now. This humble server computer still resides over at BRITE energy center.
Large Scale Systems Museum (PA)
Once upon a time I went with the student ACM group to go check out some really old computers. I’m talking like, really old. Makes me have a better appreciated for the computing power we have today.
